Hey everyone!

This week went by so fast. A lot of things have happened. Second week done at the Mexico City MTC. A lot of learning and eating. We have two classes that are 3 hours each most days and now they are both in Spanish. We are now supposed to talk in only Spanish as well. It's been cool so far although we haven't talked only in Spanish but a good amount.

Some highlights. My companions and I started going to the gym for like 15 to 20 minutes each day before we play basketball or pickleball. That's been super fun, especially basketball, we get about 50 minutes each day to exercise in any way we like and it's great. Each Wednesday for us is preparation day and that's today, I get to write emails call home and today go to the temple visitor center, next week the temple will open and that is really exciting that we will get to go. Besides that I have time to do laundry and play whatever I like until 5 pm.

On Monday all the missionaries from my week that are serving in Mexico had to get on a bus and travel about an hour to the immigration center. Almost everyone had their appointment at 9 or 9:30 except for me and another Elder and Hermana. We had an appointment at 11, so we went into the building around 10:15 and there was a line of about 50 or more people and the way it worked was we would sit down and then move up each chair when someone was done. It took until past 12 to get to my appointment and finally finished at around 12:30. That wasn't even bad because after I sat down when I first got there, a man sat down behind me and was speaking English. Over the next hour or so, probably more, I talked to this 62 year old guy named Joe. Super cool guy, taught me a sport called paddle that he plays, a combo of pickle ball and squash. He travels a lot too, he's going to Germany and Vietnam this year. It was great to talk to him and I know that God had him there at that exact time when almost no one else in that building spoke English so that I could talk to him and hopefully make his day better. He did mention he had lived in Mexico city for 7 years and each time he went to the immigration center he saw missionaries. Although I didn't teach him a lot about our church he learned what missions are and that we go by Elder or Sister.

This week was very tiring, most days are very similar but there are always ways to make it more fun. I try to remember that even when everything is repetitive that I am not doing this for myself, I am doing it so the people in Villahermosa have the chance to hear of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Every little thing matters and something I heard a lot yesterday was this verse in the Book of Mormon:

Alma 37:6: "Now ye may suppose that this is foolishness in me; but behold I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise."

I know that this is true even when things get boring, when you know they are good and true, small things add up and a story was told in a devotional about the British cycling team and how bad they were for about 60 years, they tried turning the program upside down many times but when they hired a new coach around 2000 or so he decided to dial in on small things and the British progressed way faster than they thought and now they are a great team that is winning gold medals. I testify that it's true that little, small things or acts add up into something great over time. And I invite you do small simple things each day and you will see growth in whatever it may be.In the name of Jesus Christ Amen

Have a wonderful week!

Poured so hard we ran to dinner for maybe 2 minutes and got drenched
