Buenas,
Gonna start on a high note here, we finally got a fecha or baptismal date yesterday. It was a milagro fr, the guy found a facebook ad and liked it, so other missionaries called him and referred him to us and Saturday night we called him and he seemed super interested. Back to the rest of the week. We found some people who were interested but we are gonna have to find a way for them to get to church, their problems are usually work or family, but we have faith they can get to church. Not too much success, but like I said we did find some interested people, some lessons here and there.
Im gonna be honest, my companion isnt the hardest working guy and its hard sometimes when Im trying to do more, look for more people, especially when he has to do most of the talking, usually, been doing more and more each week. Its getting better fr. Side note the food this week was goood, had a lot more pazol, not even sure how to describe it but its a drink in tabasco, its pretty good. But onto the topic of faith.
Definently this last week was hard, Im doing more talking more planning, taking more of the load, and at the same time it still didnt seem like anyone was really interested in the learning more about the gospel of Jesus Christ. And at times it felt like I was losing faith that there is anyone here in my area, but he found us and really we couldve easily knocked his door plenty of times, like its just a little offshoot we havent gone down yet. So im greatful for the faith boost that people here in Cañales want to learn more and are questioning their existence in life.
This scripture really sums up my experience in the book of mormon, the penultimate book, Ether 12:6
"And now, I, Moroni, would speak somewhat concerning these things; I would show unto the world that faith is things which are hoped for and not seen; wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith."
and I can testify to you that it is true, that we have trials and tests in this life and the purpose is to help us grow, in all manners, especially in our faith in Jesus Christ, that he truly suffered for all mankind so that we can return to live with him and God after this life.
A simple invitation, I invite you all to have just a little more faith that it will all work out, that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I testify that your efforts in good things is never wasted. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
